Driver Easy will automatically recognize your system and find the correct drivers for it. You don’t need to risk downloading and installing the wrong driver, and you don’t need to worry about making a mistake when installing.

You can update your drivers automatically with either the FREE or the Pro version of Driver Easy. But with the Pro version it takes just 2 clicks (and you get full support and a 30-day money back guarantee):

1) Download and install Driver Easy.

2) Run Driver Easy and click Scan Now. Driver Easy will then scan your computer and detect any problem drivers.

3) Click the Update button next to a flagged Nvidia driver to automatically download and install the correct version of this driver (you can do this with the FREE version). Or click Update All to automatically download and install the correct version of all the drivers that are missing or out of date on your system (this requires the Pro version – you’ll be prompted to upgrade when you click Update All).

Here take NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 for example. Driver Easy will detect the Nvidia graphics card installed on your computer.

If you can’t install the driver with Driver Easy, the graphics card may be disabled or the detected incorrectly. Follow below instructions to check it:

Methods 2: Check if the Graphics Card is Disabled

If the device is disabled, you’re not able to install the driver and get this error. You can check it in Device Manager:

1) Go to Device Manager,  if you see a small down arrow next to the device as shown in the picture, the device has been disabled. Then right-click the device and click Enable.

2) Restart your PC if asked. Then reinstall the driver.

Method 3: Check if the Graphics Card is Detected Incorrectly

Under category “Display adapters“, if you do not see Graphics card listed there, the card mostly is not detected correctly. It could be listed under “Other devices” or somewhere else and shown as another device name.

Locate the devices with a yellow mark on it. One of these devices may be the NVIDIA graphics card. If you’re not sure how to figure out which one is the graphics card, follow steps below:

1) Right-click one device with a yellow mark on it and click Properties.

2) Go to Details tab, select Hardware Ids from the drop-down menu of Property.

3) The Hardware Id Value should be like follows. The VEN code means vendor and the DEV code means device. In below screenshot, the VEN code is 15AD and the device is 0740.

4) Go to www.pcidatabase.com. Enter the two codes and click the Search buttons.

Then you will get the device name and the vendor name (NVIDIA).

Once you figure out the specific NVIDIA graphics card you have, update its driver to the latest version.

Conclusion

Try to install the NVIDIA graphics card driver again on your computer. This time you should be able to install it without any problem. If the error persists, you can contact the official technical support to get assistance about it. We hope the methods above help you fix the NVIDIA installer cannot continue error.
